FAQ & policies

Good to know before you book

We'd rather you read it here than find it out later.

What if I need to adjust the pressure, or something hurts?

Tell your therapist, right then. Pressure, temperature, a spot you'd rather skip, or just wanting to be left quiet. Say so. You won't offend anyone and you're not being difficult.

Deep doesn't mean better, and it shouldn't mean bracing or holding your breath. If you're gritting your teeth, that's too much. You can change your mind mid-session, as many times as you need.

You can also end the session at any time, for any reason. Your therapist may also stop a session if something doesn't seem right for your safety or theirs.

What happens at my first visit?

Come about 10 minutes early to fill out a short health history. Your therapist will talk with you about what's going on, what you want out of the session, and how much pressure you like before you ever get on the table.

What do I wear? What comes off?

Undress to whatever you're comfortable with. You'll be under a sheet the whole time, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. Your therapist steps out while you get on the table. Thai massage is the exception: you stay fully clothed, so wear something you can stretch in.

Is a 50-minute massage really 50 minutes?

Yes. The minutes we advertise are hands-on table time. We block an extra 10 minutes on top for check-in and turnover, so you're never rushed and we're never late for the person after you.

What can I add to my massage?

Cupping, CBD on a focused area, hot stones, and a foot scrub are all available on most massages, and none of them take time away from your session. Aromatherapy is free with every eligible massage at every length: your therapist brings Roots Apothecary blends to the table and you pick one. Just ask when you book, or tell your therapist at check-in.

How often should I come?

It depends on what you're dealing with. Working on something specific? Every week or two, until it settles. Keeping things from piling up? Once a month is the sweet spot for most people, which is exactly why our memberships are built that way.

Cancellation, no-shows, and running late

One policy for everyone, members and non-members alike. Life happens, so your first late cancellation is half price rather than full.

Running late? Under 15 minutes, we'll do what we can in the time left and the session is charged in full. We don't run into the next guest's appointment. At 15 minutes the slot is released and treated as a no-show.

A few details: a card on file is required to book, member or not. Fees are figured from the full standard price, not your member or package rate. If you're a member, you keep your credit. We never use it up to cover a fee.

Can my teenager get a massage?

Yes, for ages 14 and up. A parent or legal guardian needs to fill out and sign the intake form, and stay on the premises for the whole session. We'll decline the appointment if no parent or guardian is there. A guardian is welcome to stay in the room for the session if the client would like that.

I have a medical condition. Can I still get a massage?

Usually yes. Massage is safe for most people, most of the time. A few conditions mean we need to reschedule, a few need a note from your doctor first, and some just mean we work around one area instead of skipping the whole session.

Fill out your health history honestly and your therapist will adjust. If you're not sure, ask your doctor. If they're comfortable with it, we'd love to have you.

Can I use my membership on any massage?

Your monthly credit covers the service your tier is built on, and it moves into other services of the same length or longer with a small upgrade fee. Whatever you swap into, you land exactly on that service's member rate. The front desk will walk you through it.
